Our Truro caravan park: The perfect base to explore the city

Cornwall’s only city stands just a short distance from our Truro caravan park. Whether you’re looking for spot of retail therapy, a bite to eat or beautiful countryside to explore, this pretty little city has plenty on offer.

Stroll charming cobbled streets, grab a pasty in the Pannier Market, explore deep creeks, rolling hills and food festivals. Straying away from the much sort after Cornish coasts into Truro city can make for an excellent day out for the whole family.

Truro Cathedral

Home to possibly the prettiest Gothic church in the country, Truro’s striking cathedral stands tall above Truro’s skyline with its 250 foot high towers and gorgeous stained glass windows. This 19th century cathedral is a central hub for Truro events including arts, learning and Cornwall music. Take a guided tour around the magnificent piece of architecture or stop at the gift shop. Truro Cathedral provides a great spot to explore.

When you think of a city, you may not automatically think water activities, we get it. However, the gentle waters between Truro and Falmouth couldn’t be better suited to water sports! Just 5 minutes from the city centre you will find Loe Beach water sports centre. Here you can hire equipment and book lessons. With everything from dinghies to motorboats, Truro can make for the perfect opportunity for some water fun.

It’s not all about the city centre, take a short drive outside of the city and you’ll find some excellent attractions. One of our favourites is Healeys cyder farm, a short distance from our Truro caravan park, this family run farm, is the proud producer of an array of award-winning ciders, wines, spirits and much more! Head over to the farm where you can enjoy a guided tour, tractor rides, meet the friendly animals and grab a bit to eat in the ‘old bottlery’- an excellent day out for the family.

Hall For Cornwall

Reopening in autumn 2020 Cornwall’s theatre has undergone the biggest transformation in its history. Over the last 20 years the Hall for Cornwall has welcomed 2 million people to 3,700 performance of dance, comedy and musicals. UK pop history was even made here in 1970 when Queen played their first gig with Freddie Mercury as frontman!
This new development hopes to reawaken the beauty and history within the City Hall, re opening the doors to spectacular performance and inspiration.
